Bare Essentials Mineral Makeup Or Traditional Cosmetics - Which One is For You?

Bare Essentials Mineral Makeup Or Traditional Cosmetics - Which One is For You?

By Isabella Gibby

Whether it's mineral makeup or the conventional kind, bear in mind that the components of each are similar. The main difference between the two lies on the kind of formula as well as the amount of additives. Aside from that, their difference can also be found on the kind of additive used, which may include binders, fragrances, dyes, pigments, or even preservatives. If there is only a small percentage difference within the makeup, what distinguishes bare essentials mineral makeup from the traditional one?

The strength of makeup is determined by the amount of pigment used to obtain the desired shade or tone of the makeup. The amount of binder is an indication of how solid the makeup is to your touch or the severity of feeling it brings to your skin as well as how natural it looks in the final application. Likewise, the degree of preservative included would determine the shelf life of your makeup and its consistency from one batch to another.

Not all makeup is created equal. Mineral cosmetics is a natural form of makeup that is free from the common additives contained in a regular makeup which can irritate sensitive or acne prone skin. Mineral makeup contains ingredient such as mica, zinc oxide, and titanium oxide which can be obtained in its natural form reducing the problem of irritation.

Aside from that, mineral cosmetics are non-comedogenic which reduces clogging in the skin pores. As a result, the likelihood of the skin being irritated and acne breaking out are considerably reduced. Not only that the metal oxides found in mineral makeup creates a soothing effect on the skin and has anti-inflammatory properties.

Regardless of these facts, the primary reason for the extreme popularity of mineral makeup is that it provides an alternative to the traditional makeup that women have been using for years. It provides a guarantee of more comprehensive coverage and can last for several hours after application.

Bare essentials mineral makeup eliminates the need for a separate foundation as well as a concealer which were a necessity with other kinds of makeup. Mineral makeup is capable of performing all three functions without you exerting any effort. Because it gives a natural look and feeling, you would never reach the point that you are wearing mask at all. Now you never have to worry about what brand of makeup will fit your sensitive skin.

4 Things to Keep in Mind When Shopping For a Hair Removal Cream

By Jacob S Smith

If you have found yourself in need of a hair removal cream, and are going out shopping for one, you may find a checklist of things to keep in mind on your shopping venture handy. After all, haven't we heard of cases about people who purchase formulations in the name of hair removal creams, only for the formulations so bought to turn out to be utterly ineffective, or even harmful?

1) Well, then, the first thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is that not everything marketed as a 'hair removal cream' is indeed one. Some are outright scams. Be sure to check out the ingredients that go into the making of every product you consider buying, and ensure that they are substances that can really help in hair removal. But beware, that unscrupulous guys have been known to list false ingredients - hence the need to ensure that you are dealing with reputable manufacturers first, people who wouldn't falsify an ingredient list, before even starting to interrogate the ingredients.

2) The second thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is that price is not always a good guide to the 'goodness' or otherwise of a product. There is this mistaken believe, among some people, that the best products are the those that are sold for the highest prices, you know, the 'big brand' products. The most expensive pieces of jewelry and designer outfits may indeed be the best, because of the prestige factor, but in chemical formulations like hair loss creams, most expensive is not always the best. Herein lies the need to look at a product, what it is made of, what its efficacy rates are and so on - rather than just looking at its price- in deciding whether it is a 'good' product or not.

3) The third thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is that the products don't always work for everyone: different people react differently to different chemical formulations. You may have to go on a 'trial and error' shopping, before you finally come across a product that actually works for you. If a particular hair removal cream does not work for you, don't go 'defaming' it, saying that it doesn't work. It could just that your body didn't react as well as it was supposed to, to that particular hair loss cream.

4) The fourth thing you need to keep in mind, as you go shopping for a hair removal cream is the fact that hair removal creams are potentially hazardous chemical formulations. As you buy any one hair removal cream, be sure to check out what its instructions for use are (and ask questions where you are not very clear). Then follow the instructions keenly, keeping in mind that these are not just ordinary creams. It is also in your best interests to know what the potential side effects are, and what you can do to minimize the chances of your falling victim to those side effects.

Top 10 Ways to Slow Down the Aging Process

Source: Ezinearticles.com

By: Sherry L. Granader

My grandmother used to say to me "Don't get old Sherry" and she was right if you do not feel well more often than not and do not have enough energy to make it through the day and enjoy yourself into retirement. The time to start slowing down the aging process is NOW. Here are my top ten ways to do just that:

1. EAT MINI-MEALS every 3-4 hours - this helps stabilize blood sugar levels throughout the day and will not put undue stress on your digestive system. Make sure they are nutrient dense with plenty of WHOLE FOODS from the produce section at every mini-meal.

2. EAT LESS SUGAR - sugar compromises your immune system and we have learned that HIGH-GLYCEMIC foods are now associated with cancer, diabetes and heart disease.

3. WORRY LESS ABOUT CHOLESTEROL - this tends to divert our attention from the bigger picture when it comes to heart disease risk. Healthy lifestyle, regular exercise and decreasing your body weight will have a much more profound effect on mortality than solely focusing on cholesterol levels.

4. QUIET YOUR MIND - stress is a component of every MAJOR disease - Cortisol - a stress hormone agest he brain by literally shrinking the hippocampus which is essential for memory and thinking. Cortisol causes you to put more weight on around the mid-section. Take a few minutes each day to meditate, do Yoga or practice deep breathing to lower your stress levels.

5. EAT FISH - or take an Omega 3 (fish oil) supplement - this has been proven to lower blood pressure, improve your mood, feed your brain and reduce inflammation throughout the body. Think of the TIN MAN in the Wizard of OZ movie when they squirted oil into his joints and he was able to move about freely with ease and no pain.

6. STAY CONNECTED - make connections with people. The longest lived and healthiest people are those with connections to something outside themselves. For over 2 decades, research has shown that people with few social connections are more likely to have poor mental health, poor physical health and die prematurely.

7. CHECK YOUR HOMOCYSTEINE LEVELS in your blood - the lower they are, the better off you are. Those with high levels have a 50% greater risk of a heart attack and 40% of deaths are due to high homocysteine levels. It is a compound that can lead to atherosclerosis by damaging the arteries. The good news is that B-complex will help bring down homocysteine levels. Take a B-complex supplement everyday and eat lots of leafy greens.

8. EXERCISE regularly - you already knew that but it will help strengthen bones, keep muscles toned, increase circulation, reduce depression, lower blood pressure, improve blood sugar levels, increase oxygen to the brain and is the BEST anti-aging thing you can do for yourself.

9. LOWER YOUR INFLAMMATION - when you stub your toe, chemicals in the body rush to the injured area filling with fliud and surrounding the injured areas with chemicals that fight infection and is part of the healing process - this is a good thing! The problem is that many of us are walking around in a chronic state of low-grade inflammation - this is NOT good! The dark side of inflammation is it can damage arteries and nerve cells and is a part of every degenerative disease including Alzheimer's, obesity, diabetes and heart disease. Eat ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FOODS including fish, berries, dark leafy greens, sweet potatoes and nuts. They contain phyto-nutrients and Omega 3's that reduce inflammation.

10. VITAMIN D-3 - this is the most underrated vitamin - your body makes it only when are you exposed to the sun. It can enhance your body's performance, fight cancer, and build bones PLUS significantly reduce your risk of developing a cold or flu, especially during the winter months. Many think the reason we get a cold or the flu is due to the cold weather - this is simply not true. The fact is we are lacking Vitamin D-3 because we are not getting enough exposure to the sun.

Start doing one of these tips each and every day. Your mind, body and spirit will thank you! I wish you glowing good health - always!

Do you Deserve a Homemade Spa Facial?

Source: Nextarticles.com

Author: DanielleSims

They say that your face is your fortune, but this is not true in the day and age of higher education, still a lot of women require that their faces look exceptional, whether they are at home alone or out working presenting themselves to the public. Knowing your face is at its best you face the world with confidence.

Facial treatments will make us feel relaxed, keep our skin soft and supple and skin looking satiny. Cleansing your face is very important. Our face is not covered like the rest of the skin on our body, so it can gather up tiny particles and debris from the atmosphere outside and at your place of work. Add to this our sweating and its no wonder our skin sometimes looks dirty. Use a good quality facial cleanser to take off the thickest grime that even soap can't get rid of. Make sure it is suitable for your skin type.

Use a circular massage movement and a complete exfoliating cream to take away all of your dead skin. If you have an oily T-section - nose, chin and forehead - give that area extra attention. Prepare a facial steam by, fill your sink with warm water, dip your cloth in it, wring it out and keep it against your face for several seconds. Do this 3-5 times.

Put on your chosen mask, keeping away from the delicate area by the eyes. Leave on for up to twenty minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water and moisturize, using a cream to suit your skin and one that integrates a sunscreen if you will be exposing yourself to the sun.

Facial masks can be made cheaply at home from assessable products in your kitchen. An apple cucumber mask contains: one half a cucumber, egg white, a drop of lime essential oil, half a teaspoon of both apple mint leaves, lemon or lime juice. Mix ingredients until smooth in a blender and store in the refrigerator no more than 2 days.

Do Wrinkle creams have any Good effects

Source: Nextarticles

We come across countless cosmetic products advertisements in our daily life. Some of them are not of good quality. You need to be careful to avoid being fooled by such companies. Therefore, you need to do a bit of research on the key ingredients used in making the product. You should also find the effects of these products. In late thirties and early forties people used to spend a lot of money on anti aging skin care products to fight wrinkling of skin. It is therefore obvious that you should study the effects of wrinkle creams.

Recently a leading New York daily published on these wrinkle creams. A team of medical experts met at a leading medical University and discussed on the ability of wrinkle creams to remove age spots. They declared that if you use a good quality wrinkle cream at least twice a day it will remove the age spots and the brown spots that appear after menopause in women.

The effects of wrinkle creams also include reduction in the number of sun spots. Because of air pollution and consequent damage to ozone layer, our skin is exposed to more ultraviolet rays which create sun spots. These creams help to reduce sun spots.

It is good to note that anti aging creams do make your skin firmer. Sometimes we due to age your skin may loosen up without wrinkling. You can find this out by doing a pinch test. As these creams make your skin firm, you will look younger as before.

Pores for percolation of oxygen and expulsion of unwanted debris such as dead skin cells and extra sebum are present in the outermost layer of skin. The blockage of these pores results in dull looking skin. Clearing these pores is one of the effects of wrinkle creams.

Liver spots are brown blotches on the face, neck and hands; that look really bad. These spots are formed due to prolonged exposure to sun. Removal of liver spots is cited as one of the effects of wrinkle creams. However, no conclusive evidence has been found to substantiate this claim.

Certain creams contain ample doses of antioxidants which help rejuvenate the skin cells. By providing the skin cells with the right nutrition, these creams arrest the onset of age related skin ailments. Antioxidant assisted exfoliation is an excellent example of the effects of wrinkle creams.

Please make sure that you choose a cream which has proven efficacy. It should come from a manufacturer which has built its reputation by creating quality cosmetics and not tomfoolery that we often come across in advertisements for cosmetic products. Asking for expert advice should never be procrastinated.

Wart Removal – Clinical Treatment Is No Longer the Best

Source:Articleshmarticle.com

By : Davion Wong

Wart removal by clinical treatment is not the best. This may be a bold statement but as you read on, you will realize why this is so. If you are thinking that self removal of warts at home is the better alternative, you are both right and wrong. You are correct in the sense that you can administer the treatment yourself from home, but wrong if you associate it with the usage of over-the-counter (OTC) or prescribed medicine such as salicylic acid and tretinoin plasters and other products with skin-peeling properties. This article will expose some of the risks and shortfalls you need to consider before going for a clinical removal treatment performed by your dermatologist. You will also catch a glimpse of the benefits of using totally safe and natural home treatment versus using OTC medications to get rid of those warts.

Let us take a closer look at the clinical wart removal treatment you would probably be subjected to at the dermatologist’s clinic. Chances are the dermatologist would recommend cauterization, cryrotherapy or excision to get rid of those warts. Laser treatment may also be suggested as another alternative but it is mostly avoided if necessary due to its high costs. Here’s a brief summary of each treatment method and its possible harmful effects.

Cauterization is the medical term for burning of the skin growth. It is used in conjunction with electric current and this removal treatment is sometimes called electro-surgery. Other than warts, it can be used to remove other skin abnormalities such as skin tags and moles. This process may be simple but the success depends on the skills of the dermatologist performing the procedure.

Cyrotherapy involves freezing the warts so that they can be easily removed. The dermatologist would clip the wart with forceps or other metallic tweezers and apply liquid nitrogen, freezing the warts almost instantenously. The risk of suffering from skin burns or dyschromic lesions/wounds do exist for these methods.

Excision by a pair of scissors or scalpel can hurt even when the patient is under the numbing effect of local anesthesia. Bleeding is likely to take place and if the skin tags are numerous, the bleeding can be a rather messy sight for the patient. If you cannot stand the sight of blood, reconsider this option. However, the bleeding is relatively harmless and aluminum chloride is often applied on the affected area to alleviate it.

Clinical methods may be fast and take a few hours to complete, but the full recovery from the wound marks could take weeks. In some cases that have gone wrong, permanent scarring is a repercussion the patient has to live with. The plight of these folks needs to be acknowledged and empathy accorded. After all, quite a number of people remove warts to enhance their physical appearances. There is also no guarantee that the warts would not return after the treatment. Talking about the cosmetic effect, you may wish to know that cosmetic wart removal is not included in the list of illnesses and diseases covered by insurance companies. Lots of people fail to realize this, that the warts are surgically removed for its aesthetic value. Warts are hardly a health threat, unless they are malignant ie cancerous which do occur in genital warts. It would do you good to clarify with the insurance companies least you have to fork out a hefty sum of money for treatment.

Hair Loss Treatments: Which one is the right one?

Source:Articlefair.com

By: Hair loss Doc

As the cause of hair loss tend to vary with every individual, so is hair loss treatment used to combat hair loss. Choosing the right treatment to your condition is very essential in ending alopecia as soon as possible.

Now what are the things you should look at in choosing the right hair loss treatment for your condition? First of all, you should evaluate at what kind of hair loss you have. People lose hair in several different ways, the most common of which are: Receding Hair Line (Thinning Hair) centralised loss on the top back (vertex) or thinning hair without a receding hair line. Depending on these factors, you’ll know what the extent of treatment you want to have for your hair.

To better know on what kind of hair loss you have, you can go here to Evaluate your hair Loss.

Once you have evaluated the type of hair loss you have and identified the extent of the treatment you have to do. Your choice might be one or a combination of any of the common treatments. Currently, there are five (5) solutions commonly available in the market; DHT inhibitors, Super Oxide Dismutase Treatments, Growth Stimulators, Anti-Androgens and Anti-Inflammatories.

DHT Inhibitors

DHT or dihytestoserone is a converted testosterone, the hormone which helps maintain the secondary sexual differences between men and women. However, when much of the testosterone is converted into DHT, it bonds with Androgens and proceed to slow hair growth down, this usually leads to the development of androgenic alopecia. DHT inhibitors reduce or inhibit the production of DHT therefore preventing the root of androgenic alopeciaSuper Oxide Dismutase Treatments / Immune System Treatments

When excess DHT is produced it usually causes inflammation of the scalp. This is because your body consider hair follicles as foreign objects and start attacking them. The body produce Super Oxide Dismutase to combat the supposed foreign objects, what Super Oxide Dismutase does is that it reduces the levels of Super Oxides reducing the chances of hair follicle loss.

Growth Stimulators

Growth stimulators promote hair growth in the scalp. While not really addressing the root cause of hair loss, they are very successful in cosmetically changing your appearance. This is often enough with most people and has great benefits in the perception and thinking of individuals experiencing hair loss. Growth Stimulators are best used in conjunction with other hair loss treatments and remedies that treat hair loss at its root cause.

Anti-Androgens

When the body produces DHT it bonds with androgens and when this process occurs, hair loss starts to set in. Anti-Androgens help stop DHT from binding with Androgens by obstructing or blocking androgen receptors on cells, significantly reducing the chances of DHT reaching the androgens and starting the hair loss process. Blocking the Androgen receptors is the first step in stopping the binding of DHT and Androgen and therefore stops the hair follicles from being damaged.

Anti-Inflammatory

As a result of DHT binding on Androgens, the immune system starts attacking on the hair follicles and the scalp becomes inflamed, irritated, flaky and itchy. Anti-Inflammatory treatments and remedies help treat and lessen the effects of these symptoms thus raising the chances for the overall success of your hair loss regimen.

All in all these hair loss treatments/remedies are best used in conjunction or along with others to be more effective in combating hair loss. Using one is just fine, and would help treat your hair loss problems with their intended benefits.

Foods For Beautiful Skin.

By: Jim Brown

Having a beautiful skin is a dream of all women in the world. However, its beauty does not last long. Skin is very sensitive and easily affected. According to scientists, when girls come to the age of 25, their skin begins to age so they have to pay more attention on it. Factor that can affect skin are living environment, health, work, stress, etc. Among those factors, food and diet are very significant ones.

1. Water

Water takes up a big role in your body in general. Besides, it is also an ally of your skin. Every day, the sunlight takes a considerable amount of water from your skin so it is very necessary to provide your body with water. If your body has enough water, you will have smooth skin because water can help you to remove toxin from your body. Having toxin in the body will make your skin have spots and of course it is not what you want. However, not only drinking too less can harm your skin but drinking too much water can also have the same effect. It is said that drinking 2 litters of water per day is reasonable.

2. Vegetables

Vegetables like beet and carrot, etc have a lot of vitamins and do not have oil will bring you a beautiful skin. Each type of vegetables has different effect to your skin: carrot can help you to avoid the risk of skin cancer, soy-bean can help your skin from aging, and potatoes can remove wrinkles on your skin.

3. Fruits

No one can deny effects of fruits on your skin. Fruits like apples, pearls, oranges, etc are not only delicious but also very good to your skin. Besides eating them directly, you can also use them to make treatment mask to use every week. You will see the difference

4. Avoid foods having a lot of oil

People having oil skin should avoid food having much oil. Those foods will make your body discharge more oil that can make your pores stuff and increase the risk of having spots. In order to remove oil on your skin, you can also use oil absorbent papers that are very useful

5. Avoid stimulants

Stimulants like beer, alcohol, coffee, etc can also harm your skin. Many people abuse coffee to avoid being sleepy without realizing the harmful effects of this drink. Coffee and other stimulants above can make your skin lumpy and have spots.

Besides paying attention on diet and foods, in order to have a beautiful skin, you also have to get rid of bad habits that are harmful to your skin like: staying up late, touch your face much, watch your face and bathe with hot water, sitting too long in a room with air-conditions, etc.

With the desire to have a beautiful skin, many girls use methods relating chemical substances and forgetting that daily diet and food have huge effects on their skin. Abusing chemical methods can also bring side effects that are very dangerous to you.

Hair Loss Solutions at Home

Source: Dk-article.com

Let's be honest. This whole idea of having a full head of hair, that somehow bald is bad, is fueled largely by vanity. There are simple, low-cost, dietary solutions to attack hair loss, but, you do know that it's a good idea to consult a healthcare professional before you make any drastic changes in your diet, right? You do not want to create or exacerbate health problems just for the sake of a full head of hair.

Let me begin with 3 cases examining cases that focus on attitudes about hair loss.

A friend of mine has spent $25,000.00 and many months having hair plugs inserted into his forehead area. I do not want to seem unkind, but, at first it looked like a forest missing some trees. Eventually, they made it fuller and fuller, but, to me, it still looks fake. I do not tell him that, of course.

I have another friend who is bald as a cue ball. He has a full wig. It looks pretty good on him actually. Without it he looks like Howie Mandel (Deal or No deal?). He has a little bit of real hair so he has to shave his head so the wig fits properly. It's made of human hair and cost him about $500.00.

I have a cousin who is thinning too. Jimmy is a real character. He says he doesn't have friends, he has aquaintances because friends are too much work! His answer to his thinning hair? Jimmy says" Who am I going to impress? I'm married!".

That's three ways of attacking the problem from the expensive to the comical. Well, here are some simple and cost effective alternatives to try before you go the money route taken by my first two friends. I'll deal with cousin Jimmy in a minute.

There a number of different specific hair vitamins and minerals that can play a major role in helping you have a healthy head of hair. If you are not getting sufficient hair vitamins, the deficiencies can lead to thinning hair or even total baldness in the most severe cases. The fact is that the state of your hair could be reflecting the overall condition of your body. Extra hair vitamins are likely to be needed if you are generally unwell or are undernourished. Your hair will show damage and may even stop growing.

Some of the most important hair vitamins that you may need to have healthy hair include B6, biotin, inositol and folic acid. A good balanced diet is the absolute best way to protect the health of your hair. Failing that, the second best way to ensure that you get enough of these essential hair vitamins is to take vitamin supplements. It is not just hair vitamins that are necessary for healthy hair. There are a number of minerals that are essential as well, including magnesium, sulphur, silica and zinc.

The most essential hair vitamin is Vitamin A and the best form of this is beta-carotene. This is because Vitamin A can be toxic if consumed in large quantities. Beta-carotene has no such problems and is converted easily by your body into vitamin A to promote healthy hair. Of course, vitamin A is not just a hair vitamin, it is also needed for a number of other functions including normal growth of bones, skin, nails and the protective sheath surrounding nerve fibres.

Protein is another essential hair vitamin. This is because hair itself is essentially protein. The amount of this hair vitamin that you consume in your diet can affect the hair directly. If a lot of protein is included in your diet then this hair vitamin will lead to improved hair growth and a far fuller head of hair. However, a person who has a diet that is lacking in this hair vitamin will suffer from thinning hair and slow hair growth.

There are many ways to get protein. Meat and eggs are good sources. You can also purchase protein supplements. Always be watchful of what you add to your body however. You do not want the cure to be worse than the disease!

Of course, it is not just hair vitamins and minerals that are needed to ensure that a person has healthy, strong hair. There are a number of researchers who have found that there are direct links between the overall health of a person and the condition of their hair.

If a person is under a lot of stress or suffers from a lack of sleep then their hair is also likely to suffer and it is likely that their diet will not provide enough hair vitamins to counter these effects. Smoking is also a factor as it restricts blood flow to hair follicles and causes hair to die and fall out.

Vitamin and mineral supplements for hair health just might be the solution to your weak and damaged hair. They are a relatively cheap alternative worth trying before you have that forest planted on your head.

As for my cousin Jimmy, I wonder if he will still be cracking jokes when most of his hair falls out?
